Jeff Loveness, the author of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, revealed several MCU characters for the series’ upcoming team-up film, including none other than Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.
Kang the Conqueror’s prospective allies in Avengers 5 are already a number in countless numbers. Fans are curious to learn which actors will make up Earth’s Mightiest Heroes since this film marks the Avengers’ first team-up since Avengers: Endgame.
According to reports, this year’s The Marvels will have a significant influence on the events of Avengers 5. This most likely means that Carol Danvers is about to take over as team captain, with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan following.
Although there is still much work to be done in putting together the rest of the cast, Kang star Jonathan Majors has also made it known that he wants to face out against Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in the sequel.
The part of Florence Pugh in Avengers 5
Writer of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Jeff Loveness discussed the characters he’s most looking forward to writing into the MCU sequel on the Phase Zero podcast.
Loveness stated that he “can’t say explicitly” due to the possibility of getting into trouble, but he did include Florence Pugh with actors like Jonathan Majors and Letitia Wright in “this really good crop of performers”:
“I’m unable to be more detailed. I fear trouble for myself. I need to practice communicating with the Internet. Nevertheless, just in terms of characters that we enjoy, I believe that right now we are more enthusiastic about the performers than even the characters themselves. We have a particularly talented crop of performers, for this reason.
We got Letitia Wright, Jonathan Majors, and Florence Pugh. We have such a strong pool of talented actors. Everyone will have the opportunity to excel. I can’t reveal who. When they will shine is unknown to me. Nonetheless, I believe we have a strong bench, and it’s exciting to finally include everyone in the action.
This is in addition to a December 2022 rumor that suggested characters like Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Shang-Chi, and Shuri’s Black Panther would have roles.
Loveness has recently hinted at writing Namor the Sub-Mariner into Avengers 5, possibly implying that he would play a part in the action.
What role does Florence Pugh have in Avengers 5?
Yelena Belova has already acted in a few significant parts in the Multiverse Saga, including Black Widow and Hawkeye, where she engaged in a titanic struggle with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.
Even Thunderbolts, which will star Yelena, is being developed as a sort of prequel to Black Widow for 2024.
Given everything, it comes as no surprise to learn that Florence Pugh is in contention for a part in Avengers 5, especially given her connections to both the positive and negative aspects of the MCU as a whole.
Pugh was believed to have another covert MCU appearance scheduled for October 2022, which may very well be for Avengers 5. What exactly she will do in conjunction with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is the actual question.
She doesn’t have the same connections to the team as Natasha Romanoff did, but because of their time spent working on Hawkeye, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop are becoming fast friends. After her time in Thunderbolts, she’ll also have experience battling alongside strong characters like the Winter Soldier and the U.S. Agent, potentially opening up a door for her to join the MCU’s top team.
Pugh should still have a potential for some exciting plot developments as she progresses as a hero, even though she’s much more of a ground-level hero in a film that will feature Kang the Conqueror, the Multiverse’s largest danger.
On May 2, 2025, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled for cinema release.
